Everything You Need to Know About Bangalore Housing Scheme

The Bangalore Housing Scheme is an affordable housing project undertaken by the Bangalore Development Authority to allocate around 3250 housing units around the city. Under this scheme, allotment of these units will happen in accordance with the BDA Allotment of Site Rules, 1984.

Individuals belonging to EWS, LIG and other economic groups can avail 1 BHK, 2 BHK, and 3 BHK apartments, provided they fulfill certain eligibility criteria.

Eligibility to avail these apartments

Individuals need to fulfill the following criteria to avail of these apartments –

  • For individuals belonging to Economically Weaker Section of the society, their annual family income should be below Rs. 3 Lakh. Those belonging to other economic groups don’t have to comply with any income limit.

  • Beneficiaries should be above 21 years of age.

  • Applicants must be residing in Karnataka for at least ten years to apply under this scheme.

  • Families who have availed of any other housing scheme from any other state cannot apply under this scheme.

Individuals eligible to avail the benefits of the scheme can apply for a home loan from any lender in India to finance the expense of purchasing the apartments.

How to apply for the scheme?

To apply for the Bangalore Housing Scheme, follow the steps below –

  • Collect the registration form from certified institutions by paying the stipulated fee.

  • After submitting this form, you will be provided with an acknowledgment slip that you will have to submit to the BDA.

  • Next, submit your first deposit in a cheque or DD in favor of BDA commissioner.

After you have successfully applied for this scheme, you need to wait for the allotment process to avail your apartment under this scheme.
